Whether you are looking to make a website from scratch, revamp an existing one, or you’re just not sure what you want to do, get in touch and see if I can help.
I know the challenges that small businesses face because I’ve been working in sales & marketing for them for more than ten years, but before that I worked for some of the biggest media companies around (Sky, Metro, Time, Hearst).
Why do I keep my focus on small businesses? Because it’s easier to make a big difference to a smaller sized business, so for me, the smaller the better!
I focus on trying to keep things cheap and tend to deliver projects quickly (I have a special Spotify playlist that I put on on Wednesdays which is my allocated day in the week for design work projects). Most of my projects come in between £500 & £1,500 and I am proud that I don’t ever go over the price I quote at the start of the project.
If you have any questions please drop me a line or give me a call using my details at the bottom of this page.

You’re looking at one of my favourite web designs, my own site! I consciously tried to make it more bare bones to reflect the current trends in web design for simplicity. You can have a site like this for £500 to £1,000.
As you know, much of what I do involves advertising on screens indoors, so I built this website in half a day to show the big national advertisers what they could get – a site like this would cost you around £500-£750. Click this link or the image below to have a look at it properly.
One of my favourite projects recently was this one for a local wig supplier & salon. It was a relatively open brief with some lovely images supplied by the client which made the whole thing very easy to do. Something like this would cost around £800-£900 including hosting, domain purchase, some basic SEO work, setting up emails on a few devices and a training session on how to use everything properly. This was a great project to work on which came with a need for a lot of creative thinking and a very quick turnaround with minimal downtime. Working with someone else’s build (the website they had before we started looking at it) meant certain unique challenges had to be overcome.
But once I had it in my mind how things needed to work and look like the whole website was done in less than one working day – and that’s the thing about this kind of project, spending time thinking may not feel like a wise use of time, but in this instance, and many others, it means the actual ‘doing’ time is vastly reduced.
All in all, if you are supplying the words, images and hosting/domain then this kind of thing can be had for less than £500. Have a look at it here or by clicking the image below.
Digital Brightlingsea is our project bringing together our different digital screen assets around our home town. Off the back of it I built a basic single-page website for it, which you can see by clicking here. Something like this would cost you around £600-£800 all-in.
East Herts Home Help
We were asked to help launch a new local care service on a multimedia project including posters, leaflets, general branding and of course, a website.
Because the business is all about getting across the owner’s personality (to gain trust from the audience) we went for a simple bold design with soothing yellow hues. This kind of site can be achieved for about £750.
“I am so happy with the results. Mat really understood what I wanted to get out of it (it helped that he is my husband), but the best thing was the whole project was live within seven days of me giving the initial brief.”
Julie Court, owner of East Herts Home Help
NABERmedia needed an online e-commerce portal for people to buy local advertising space, I worked hard to deliver a solution that gave a strong bold opening home page and then set up individual product pages for each media option they had.
The result was an easy to use advertisement booking ‘shop’ which costs less than a cup of coffee a week to run. As a small business, having an online shop does not have to cost you the world if you know how to do it, and that’s what we do.
This kind of result is possible with a budget of around £2,000 to £2,500, more expensive because of the amount of time it takes to create and detail individual products.
Stadia Solutions work with some of the biggest names and venues in European sport installing and commercialising stadium infrastructure.
Organistions such as the Rugby Football Union, Celtic Football Club and Southampton Football Club trust them to deliver, but they needed a new website.
From start to finish the project took just four working days to deliver. This kind of result is really only possible with the ‘Custom’ package listed above.
They also needed an eCommerce website building for small businesses to buy and administer advertising campaigns. I built this for them.
easylocaladvertising.com was an e-commerce portal aimed at small and micro businesses that want to buy local advertising, easily.
This kind of thing would cost £1,500 to £2,000, a bit more expensive thanks to its e-commerce element.
